Hiccup Girl's Fashion

Hiccup Girl's Fashion

Jennifer Mee, 19, appeared on NBC's TODAY several times in 2007 because of her condition, which caused her to hiccup up to 50 times a minute.
Hiccup Girl has no fashion at all. She wore a heart shaped jacket and striped pants when she appeared on THE TODAY SHOW. This style is not only obsolete, but horrific!
HICCUP GIRL'S FASHION DONT'S
  • hearts on your jacket
  • stripe bottoms
  •  and those hiccup
FASHION LIKE THAT IS HARD TO FIX UNLESS THEY HAVE A NEW MAKEOVER TOTALLY
Note: If you know you going to appear on television, you should wear.

1. Don't wear white, black or red. White glows and becomes the most noticeable thing on the TV screen. Black is too harsh and can suck up all the light. Reds "bleed" on camera and are distracting.
2. Pastel shirts work well on TV.
3. The safest color on TV is blue.
4. Don't wear dangly earrings. They distract.
5. Remove jewelry that moves, makes noise, or could hit your microphone.
6. Be wrinkle-free.
7. Don't wear stripes, herringbone, small intricate designs, or flashy jewelry. They are hard for a TV camera to pick up on.
8. Don't wear checks.
9. Dress in a simple, boring manner, unless you are a fashion designer.
10. TV viewers should focus on your face and what you say, not your clothes.
11. Men should have about an inch of their shirt cuff showing.
12. Avoid light colored pants.
13. Wear over-the-calf socks so your skin doesn't show if you cross your legs.
14. Don't wear more than one ring per hand.
15. Women shouldn't wear short skirts if you want people to focus on your message.
16. If you wear a dark shirt, dark suit, and dark tie, you will look like you are auditioning to be a hit man on the "Sopranos."
17. Vests look stuffy on TV.
18. Don't wear stripes. They dance around on the screen and are distracting.
19. Avoid hair products that add shine.
20. No visible logos or companies or brands, except for your own company logo.
21. People shouldn't judge you by your appearance, but they will.
22. If you do or wear anything distracting on TV, people will remember that and nothing you say.

RUSSIAN'S FASHION

Russian Fashion

The physical barriers between East and West came down in the 1990s.  Since then Russia has steadily been moving forward to produce competitive fashion that interests the western world.  In late October 18-25, Moscow held their Russian Fashion Week.  It has grown so large there was a need for a better fashion show and exhibition venue.  Thus the Russian Fashion Week has moved to Gorky Park.
The Russian Fashion Week (RFW), which ended last Saturday, brought together top Russian designers and their foreign counterparts for what is widely considered Eastern Europe''s premiere fashion celebration.

The event hosted almost 50 shows over seven days in the renovated Congress Hall of World Trade Center in Moscow and was broadcast live on the World Fashion Channel and Russia Today Television.

"RFW estimated [there were] almost 40,000 in attendance this season, including hundreds of buyers and celebrities, and 900 accredited journalists," said Alexander Shumsky, RFW president.

"All collections were quite strong, so media coverage was very wide. RFW is really showcasing the elite of Russian fashion," he added.

In addition to the top designers who are currently defining and developing Russian fashion, the event also hosted established and rising international industry stars, including France''s Jean Charles de Castelbajac, Spanish designers Maria Lafuente and Toni Francesc as well as three up-and-coming Italian fashion creators - a.VE, Chicca Lualdi BeeQueen and Leitmotiv.

On the heels of the event, RFW also announced that Russian designers Anastasia Z, Masha Kravtsova and Elena Karnaukhova will participate in the upcoming Milano Moda Donna this September as part of the existing agreement with Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana.

FALL TRENDS 2010

10 Fall 2010 Trends We Loved At New York Fashion Week

Artful Graffiti PantsThere's really nothing new about graffiti'd pants, but somehow designers like Tory Burch managed to give them an artful modernity we're totally obsessing.

The Winter Crop TopBecause it wasn't really cool the first time, or even the second, there's no reason a crop top in winter should work—but Rag & Bone and Timo Weiland got the proportions and the layering exactly right.

10. The Tough Pleated Mini
While a few designers did pleated micro minis that came off like cheerleading costumes (you know who you are!), others like Alex Wang and Derek Lam fashioned theirs for the tough (ie: cool) girls.

Fantasy Ox Blood
This rich, old-world shade is the oldest winter trick in the book (SO '70s), yet, we loved it courtesy of Rodarte and DKNY just the same.

Classic Camel
With all the focus on purple and emerald green (again), fashion's most reliable neutral almost felt revelatory in the hands of Rachel Comey and Victoria Bartlett.

 Big Beautiful Pants
As longtime fans of Katharine Hepburn trousers, we're always excited when big pants return...and thanks to Zac Posen and Richard Chai, we've got them in spades.

 Patchwork
Instead of feeling awkwardly retro, the season's patchwork came off with a fresh, almost edgy vibe.

 Velvet & Velour
When velvet shows up in all the right forms, like it did at Karen Walker and Thakoon, it makes us wonder why we don't wear it more often.

 Capes & Ponchos
Either tiny and tailored or big and dramatic, the cape is definitely our new fall cover-up of choice.

10 Fall 2010 Trends We Loved At New York Fashion Week

Despite all the whines and utter mania swirling around New York Fashion Week, when it winds down, there really is nothing more fun than poring over all the shows at once. Because fall/winter collections always seem to present more opportunities for designers to go a little wild (the layering! the crazy hoods! the plaid!), this season's risk-taking was still measured—but in a good way. Instead of cartoon-like volume, we got big graceful trousers, and in place of unwearable textures, we scored lush and yummy velvets and patchwork. In fact, some of our favorite themes were in fact really old ones, only this time tweaked and tailored just enough for us to see their allure in a new way. So, here they are...the 10 trends we couldn't get enough of—and the designers who got them just right.

 The Sexy Turtleneck
We see this layering basic every season, but this time around it was sexy, interesting, and anything but boring.

article of fashion

If you read fashion magazines and websites, you have probably seen lists of fashion "rules" and "dos and don'ts". The authors make it sound like these articles contain the secret to fashion success, when in fact they are designed to sell magazines. There are no absolutes in fashion, and you are better off following guidelines rather than strictly adhering to arbitrary standards.
This goes for even the most widely accepted fashion tenets. Don't be afraid to break away from the pack and assert your individuality from time to time. Below are some fashion rules you might consider breaking on occasion, for starters.
Never wear clashing colors: Many people believe that there are certain colors that clash, and others that naturally belong together. This isn't necessarily the case. There are degrees of clashing, and you can play with them.
Now some colors look terrible together, this is the far end of the color clashing spectrum. Other colors match up and blend beautifully. In between these two extremes, there are many possible combinations. Staying in the safe zone of matching is not how to make your fashion mark. Most stylish dressers are found right up near the far end of outright clashing, but not quite at the extreme end.
Save bright jewelry for evening: Why? Are your more striking pieces somehow sun-sensitive? Why not wear them in the daytime, and get the full effect of their splendor?
It's not something you want to do all the time, but occasionally breaking out the 'evening jewelry' for daytime wear is an easy way to add a stylish twist to an outfit.
Wear strong makeup on eyes or lips but not both: This is common wisdom among makeup mavens. Supposedly one should pick either the eyes or the lips to play up. The other feature should be understated. But, why not break this rule sometimes?
Add color to both lips and eyes, but use a lighter hand and make sure the colors you choose fall into the same color group.

plus size donts

  • SIDE SPILLS
Anything that’s pinching you in, cutting off your circulation, or causing extra ripples is just not worth it.
  • A SAGGY OR OVERTIGHT CROTCH
Extra fabric that sags around the crotch is just not ladylike, whereas bunched-up fabric stretched across the crotch will overemphasize that you’re a girl. It’s also unattractive to see the seat of your pants sucked between the cheeks of your butt.
  • BUTT-CRACK CLEAVAGE
This may be fashionable among some young girls, but there’s nothing flattering about seeing someone’s butt hanging out of their jeans. Also, denim starts to give after a while, the jeans get a little baggy, and the butt-crack cleavage becomes deeper as time goes along. That having been said, when trying on jeans you should ask the salesperson how much they will stretch, as well as how much they will shrink after the first wash.
  • SQUEEZING OF THE HIPS
If your skirt is bunching up in the crotch region, it does not fit. Ditto the stretchy off-the-shoulder dress that is pulling in all the wrong areas, including across the bust. This is not a good look.
  • GRIPPING UNDERNEATH THE ARMPIT
If you’re trying on, say, a scoop-neck top, make sure it doesn’t look like it’s choking the armpit and causing a gather. That’s a sure sign that the top does not fit you because your shoulders are too broad for it.
  • THE TOP-HEAVY LOOK
If a boxy, short-waisted jacket makes your shoulders look twice as wide, don’t leave the store with it, even if it makes your waist look really small. You’ll look like a linebacker.
  • BRA SPILLAGE
Look for back cleavage bursting out of a bra and your breasts pouring over the sides or out the top. These are the signs of a bad fit. Visit a lingerie store and have a saleswoman determine your correct size.
  • BACK FAT
Strapless gowns and dresses with spaghetti straps may pinch in the back and cause flesh to hang over the top. If you see this happening when you try on dresses, focus on low-cut fronts and high backs.
  • PANTY LINES
There’s nothing worse than visible panty lines. They are a surefire way to destroy a chic look. Unless you’re into fancy thongs, go for a covered bottom that doesn’t hit you in the mid-cheeks. It should either be cut high on the waist, leaving very few lines and seams, or you should opt for French lace boy-style shorts where the lace is flat and doesn’t leave an imprint. The indentation can also be caused by underwear that’s too tight, or a thick band serving as finishing on the edges. At the same time, saggy bloomers aren’t sexy either, because you can see them under fabrics  or peeking out the tops of your pants and skirts. A seamless brief is perfect underneath an A-line skirt, while a low-rise brief plays well with a low-rise pair of jeans.

summer donts

Summer Fashion Don'ts

1.    Don't let it all hang out. Now we're all for the motto "if you've got it, flaunt it," but there is something much classier and put together about a girl that leaves a little something to the imagination. So forget the ridiculously cleavage baring tops and booty shorts and find a happy medium with coy sundresses and sneak peaks of tanned skin.

2.    Don't carry your same oversized winter bag. While we all love a purse that can carry our makeup bag, a spare outfit and shoes to match, but the huge bottomless bags of the last few seasons are gone. Simplify and try a smaller bag with a convertible strap that can go from a handbag to a shoulder bag instantly.

3.    Don't rely on the A-lign. I know we women think A-lign tops and dresses are cure alls for everything from a little extra winter weight to a big lunch but they are truly an enemy to fabulous women everywhere. As hard as this is for me to say, the popular baby doll tops of seasons past really aren't all the flattering and for the most part men hate them. Knock it off with the pregnant look this season, unless you actually are pregnant.

4.    Don't save the sparkle just for special occasions. Gold, silver and sparkle of all kinds is still in season for summer. Don't be afraid to wear those sparkly tops to lunch with linen pants or even jeans and bust out the gold and silver for shopping trips with the girls as opposed to just date nights. Garnering yourself some attention with a little shine is always a fashion Do.

5.    Don't get stuck in a rut. Last but not least, don't always rely on your old stand bys. Once we find something that suits us, be it a cut or color it can be hard to break away from that. You don't have to completely abandon the tried and true but experiment with new trends in large or small doses. You'll never broaden your horizons if you don't try new things.

summer dos

Summer Fashion Dos

1.    Do experiment with shorter lengths. Its summer people and summer equals hot! So why not cut down the amount of fabric and stay comfortable. There are literally hundreds of different styles and fabrics for shorts and skirts/dresses, so there are no excuses. If you are afraid of exposing the world to your thighs then try the cargo or boyfriend look. Tailored shorts and sundresses for dressier occasions and patterned shorts for making a statement.

2.    Do try out new patterns and colors. Going along with the idea of patterned shorts are patterns in general. Summer is the most forgiving season when it comes to outrageous fashion trends so be a little wild and try a bright color or bold pattern you normally wouldn't.

3.    Do buy a one-piece swimsuit. The one-piece has come full circle. While the more modest of us have continued to wear one-pieces despite the lack of options, there are now so many adorable and even sexy versions available that there is one for everyone. There are plenty of scant suits with various cut outs or the more classic ruffled looks reminiscent of the 1950's.

4.    Do layer. Although we normally think of summer as the hot season here in the US and rightly so, there are many places that in fact are not. While a barely there suit and cover-up might be ok for day, the moment the sun goes down you are forced to spend unnecessary funds on a touristy "I got this in Boca" type sweatshirt. This summer loose fitting clothes are still in, so with your suit try a tank, a loose fitting T and a cardigan and you'll be ready for anything.

5.    Do dress for your body type. This is the last and probably most important Do of this or any other season. Trends are fun and refreshing, but dressing in what looks best on you never goes out of style. Don't force a "tini" bikini if it doesn't make you truly look and feel your best.

Most of us have seen the makeover shows, and shows about the fashion do's and don'ts. It's always amazing to see the before and after transformations.  The reason there is such a radical difference between the before and after is the stylist is trained in fashion. They don't just know the fashion do's and don'ts, they apply them.
You need to know fashion do's and don'ts that apply to you. As women, we are all built differently. There are hundreds of styles available to us, but that does not mean they are all designed for us. Look through our sections, know your body shape, know your face shape, and apply your own fashion do's and don'ts.
What is fashion do's and don't all about?
We all have experience with this ourselves. You know how it goes. You try on outfit after outfit.  Everything looks horrible.  It's either too baggy in the butt, too tight in the thighs, or it fits the thighs and butt, but the waste it too big. AGHHHHHH! Then it happens. You try something on, and it's the perfect fit. Wow, maybe you are not a mutant after all. Wouldn't it be nice to know why that outfit looks so good on you, and why the others didn't? That's what fashion do's and don't is all about.
Why are there fashion do's and don't?.  Well as we are told a million and one times we are all "unique", each one different in our own way. Most women, everyone I know anyway, have something about their bodies that they just don't like. Some of us are tall, others are short. One woman may be large on the bottom, the other large on the top. What is so strange is that we always criticize the very attribute that other women are envious of. So stop!  It doesn't do you any good to wish for different features.  No matter how hard you wish, or how much  you complain your short legs are not going to get any longer, or your long legs aren't going to get any shorter! We are what we are. It's time to learn to love ourselves for who we are and what we can become. You can learn how to celabrate your curves and imperfections when you know the right fashion do's and don'ts for you.The important thing with fashion do's and don't is to get to know you, and YOUR body.  Find out what your body type is and embrace it.  Find out what looks great on you, and find what will help you look your best with your fashion do's and don'ts!
